Access

Choose the access that fits your work

Academic and commercial access each come in three tiers, so you can start with a few slides and move up as your projects grow.

Great questions should not depend on where you work.

We believe molecular exploration should be within reach of every research group.

Aurora's academic access is a step toward that future, helping researchers find new possibilities in the tissue they already have.

Tiers for academic and non-profit research

Submit your first slides today on Aurora Direct. Academic Research adds Aurora Intelligence and the Aurora API for larger projects, and Academic Research Pro adds model adaptation with your own spatial data.

In every tier

  • Virtual spatial transcriptomics (19k genes)
  • AnnData (.h5ad) output for downstream analysis
  • Quality-control and analysis reports
  • An interactive spatial map
  1. Academic Standard

Begin an exploration on your own slides.

    Best for

Individual researchers and small projects in academic and non-profit research.

    Includes:

    • Aurora Direct: 3 images to start
    • Up to 50,000 tiles per image
    • Figures exported as PNG or PDF
  2. Academic Research

Pursue a larger study, in shared workspaces or from code.

    Best for

Research groups with larger cohorts, or with their own analysis pipelines.

    Everything in Academic Standard, plus:

    • Aurora Intelligence: shared workspaces, the slide viewer and comparisons between regions you select
    • Programmatic access through the Aurora API
    • Private, on-premises image processing
    • Higher image and tile limits
  3. Academic Research Pro

Build a long-term research programme with us.

    Best for

Groups and institutions with work that runs over months or years.

    Everything in Academic Research, plus:

    • Capacity planned around your programme
    • Model adaptation with your own spatial data, arranged with our team: finetuning, gene restoration and panel extension
    • Onboarding and direct support

Academic research terms

Academic access runs under research terms, for non-commercial research.

Attribution and citation are required in any publication that uses results from Aurora. How to cite

Commercial research and development is governed by a written agreement with Aurora.

Research data and model development

Academic access is offered at academic rates. In return, the data you upload under the academic terms, and the results generated from it, may be used to develop and improve Aurora's models and services, as the Terms describe.

Your data is never made public, and Aurora does not share the data itself with third parties, except as the Terms describe. By uploading, you confirm that you hold the rights and consents this use requires, including those of the patients or donors the tissue came from.
