Supporting breast cancer research this October

We are dedicating newly available Aurora inference capacity to breast cancer research.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness of the disease and to recognise the researchers working to understand it. In many countries, 19 October is also marked as World Breast Cancer Day.

Over recent months, we have made Aurora's inference markedly more efficient, and this has freed additional capacity. This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we have decided to dedicate that capacity to breast cancer research.

Throughout October, breast cancer submissions on Aurora Direct are processed first. Academic and non-profit researchers can also use the code BREAST2026 to analyse up to five breast tissue images.

How to take part

  1. Step 1Enter BREAST2026 under "Have a code?"
  2. Step 2Breast is selected for you
  3. Step 3Your breast slides are processed first this October
  4. Step 4Explore the predicted spatial maps in your results

The offer runs until 31 October 2026. Groups that need more capacity are welcome to get in touch.

Three views of the same breast cancer section. On the left is the H&E stained tissue, in the middle ERBB2 (HER2) as measured by 10x Visium, and on the right ERBB2 predicted from the H&E image alone, where both maps show the highest levels in the tumour nests and lower levels in the surrounding tissue.

In 2024, 2.4 million women were diagnosed with breast cancer worldwide (WHO). We hope this capacity helps the researchers working to change that.
